NATURE ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN

THE LOCATION

It was so wonderful to photograph Brady and Brendon’s autumn La Crosse, WI engagement session! When the couple and I discussed a location perfect for them, they asked me if I would be willing to come to the Stry Nature Preserve. Brady and Brendon have visited the preserve several times during their relationship. I love when the location has some sentimental value to the couple. When I very first started my career, I used the Nature Preserve often. To be honest, I had forgotten about it! I was excited to go back again. You could say it held some sentimental value to me too.

The weather was cold and rainy all day but cleared up just in time! The sun shone through the trees and created some absolutely beautiful light. We even had a pretty sunset. The location felt so calm  so secluded. The colors were rich and deep since it was peak season in the Coulee Region.

WHO THEY ARE

Brady and Brendon are wonderful together! 🙂  Brady is super sweet and incredibly caring toward Brendon. Brendon is so easy to talk to. He’s a go with the flow always happy kind of guy! I had only met them once on video chat before the session, but I felt super comfortable with them right away. They are both so friendly! I must admit, it was incredibly easy to photograph and pose them. They listened to my posing tips and prompts well. However, their natural smiles and giggles produced the best images!

WHAT THEY WORE

The couple looked to me for some extra help picking outfits. I gave them lots of tips to elevate their looks! Dark pants, fitted shirts, closed toed shoes, fresh haircuts, I loved it all!

My favorite piece of Brady’s was his velvet suit coat. It emphasized his body’s great shape. The color and texture also added gorgeous interest to the photos. Take a look below in the first set of images.

My favorite piece of Brendon’s was actually an accessory, his watch. He set the time on his watch to the date of their engagement. I thought this was the cutest idea. It’s a little hidden gem in the images. See if you can find it. 🙂

THE WEDDING

This couple has been waiting a long time for marriage. COVID threw a wrench in their plans twice already. They are so excited for their wedding to finally get here! They selected The La Crescent Area Event Center a new contemporary wedding venue in Minnesota, just across the river from La Crosse. I know their summer wedding is going to be fabulous!! I haven’t worked a wedding there before so I am so extra happy to see it come to life for this deserving couple.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Brady and Brendon, thank you so much for waiting out the rain and meeting me for your engagement session. It was so great getting to know you and finally meeting you in person! I am so happy that our paths have crossed. 🙂  Thanks for being yourselves, see you super soon!
