Joyful Summer Wedding in La Crosse, Wisconsin
This beautiful summer wedding at Stoney Creek in Onalaska was LONG overdue! Kristin and Jordan were originally planning on celebrating with all their friends and family in 2020. However, because of COVID, things were rearranged. In fact, this couple actually got to have two weddings. 🙂 Last year, with their siblings and parents, they said their vows and became husband and wife. This year, the couple invited their whole bridal party and about 200 of their favorite people to celebrate their marriage. Scroll down to see some of my favorite photos and to read about this magical vow renewal.
The couple chose a light and bright spring palette. Dusty blue, ivory, and green were perfect colors for the May wedding.
Kristin’s mom and sister were giddy with excitement as they helped her get ready. They stepped outside the bridal suite to add the finishing touches; veil, earring, and shoes. It was so touching to see the three women smiling and enjoying time together.
Jordan looked so chic in his dark navy suit. He had some special time with his mom as she pinned his boutonniere. The single white rose was classic and simple, just like Jordan.
Kristin and Jordan wanted to enjoy as much of their reception as possible. Keeping that in mind, I built the perfect timeline. I photographed most of their portraits before the ceremony so they could party all night!
Some of the most beautiful property lies just behind Stoney Creek in Onalaska. The couple walked along the trail through wildflowers. The weather was absolutely perfect for photographs. The sunlight was soft and not too bright. The temperature was warm and comfortable!
Although it wasn’t their official wedding day, Kristin and Jordan were just as happy! They smiled and giggled the entire time!
I complimented Kristin on her stunning bouquet. She told me that she gave her florist, Rose’s Flower Cart, full reign of the design. She was overjoyed with the result!
Those lashes! Makeup by Amber Rae created such a glamorous look!
The wedding party joined up with us for pictures behind the venue. Kristin’s vision of dusty blue, navy, and ivory came together flawlessly. The group looked so sharp!
I wanted photos to be another fun part of your wedding day! In this case, that involved picking up the bride and groom and bouncing them around. I especially love Jordan’s face in the photo above. Haha! 🙂
The vow renewal ceremony at Roncalli Newman Catholic Church was perfect. The priest made sure that everyone was happy, engaged, and having a good time. The message was meaningful and written with Jordan and Kristin’s unique love in mind.
How sweet that the couple walked down the aisle together! I thought this was such a cool touch.
The beautiful white flowers that were put in Kristin’s bouquet matched the floral on the cake. I loved the cohesive design. It tasted amazing too!
The couple ordered a custom guestbook from me with their engagement photos. It was on display for all the guests to write well wishes. Their engagement session is one of my absolute favorites. Every time I photograph them they show more and more love and joy.
After dinner, the married couple snuck outside with me for some romantic sunset photos. I spotted the most beautiful tree that was in full bloom. They snuggled, laughed, and enjoyed some “alone-time” before heading back to the party.
I always love sunset pictures. These are no exceptions. They’re soft, romantic, and will look fabulous on the walls of their home and in their album.
Once the dance party started, it never stopped. These guys know how to celebrate!
Kristin and Jordan, thank you so much for including me both on your wedding day, and for your vow renewal and celebration. It was an honor to support and serve you throughout your engagement and first year of marriage. I know you guys have all the love and strength it takes. You are going to have a fantastic life together!
