A Wonderful Winter Wedding
There is something almost magical about wintertime. The way the snow covers the ground like a soft blanket, the coziness of warming up by the fireplace, and the strong but familiar scent of pine floating through the air. Not to mention the beauty of a fresh snowfall and how it sits perfectly on each and every tree branch. Now, imagine taking your wedding photos with this completely natural and all so stunning backdrop!
Amanda & Ben were the perfect couple to have a cozy winter wedding. Their ceremony was small and intimate with only close family and friends, so everyone felt warm and welcome. The bright light that shone off the snow and through the windows of the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center made for perfect lighting to really brighten their ceremony pictures. After the ceremony, the wedding party headed to Myrick Park to take beautiful pictures with the snowy bluffs of La Crosse in the background. I absolutely love the way the colors of the bridesmaids’ dresses pop against the backdrop! When it was Amanda and Ben’s turn to have their own intimate photo shoot, Amanda chose to have a soft blanket wrapped around her and Ben. They looked so happy, cozy, and comfortable being in each other’s arms!
What I Loved About the Day
The reception that took place at Concordia Ballroom was elegantly decorated with twinkling lights everywhere all thanks to Destinee at Skies the Limit Events. The added element of the gently burning candles and the hot chocolate bar (yes, you read that right, hot chocolate bar!) completed the ambiance.
I also really loved that Amanda and Ben’s dear friend officiated their ceremony! It created a fun and laid back atmosphere for the couple. And, the best part, was that Amanda and Ben chose to write their own vows which were so heartfelt that they had everyone in tears! Ben could barely make it through the first few lines of the vows he wrote before he started to tear up too. 🙂 It’s always the small, personal touches that really make the day. I’m sure Amanda and Ben will cherish that moment forever.
When Ben and Amanda came to my office for their reveal, they were grinning and super excited to see their images! They even brought me a bottle of wine as a “thank you.” How sweet! They selected a classic black album to hold the story of the day. I cannot wait to get started designing it.
Winter weddings can be so beautiful, colorful, cozy, and warm from all of the radiating love, so while considering when to have your big day, don’t forget that winter can also be wedding season. I’m so thankful Amanda and Ben chose me to capture these memories for them on their very special day. Congrats you two!
