Morgan & Ben’s private estate engagement session was fantastic for so many reasons! When Morgan and I were chatting about location perfect for them, she described to me the amazing land that she grew up on. It was out in the country with meadows, valleys, a forest, and a winding country road. I knew that it had all the things I look for plus sentimental value to the couple. We scheduled their engagement session for July 3rd exactly 365 days before their wedding day! Cool, huh? 😉 Morgan & Ben took me out on a grand tour of the whole property. They had some spots in mind but ultimately trusted me to put them in the best locations. I loved all the wildflowers and immediately started photographing them there. My other favorite spot was a section of the woods that Morgan’s dad cleared for us to use.

Morgan and Ben are so different. Morgan is super chatty and giggly (like me) and Ben is an example of “cool, calm, and collected.” It was super fun to watch their dynamic and how lovingly they interact with one another. They were both great in front of the camera and had a great time despite the bugs and humidity of Wisconsin summer. I love tall grass and woods, so bug spray is always a must at my sessions!

We chatted about their favorite outfit choices prior to the session to make sure they had options that were flattering on camera. I loved that Ben’s shirt was a subtle enough color that it coordinated with Morgan’s printed maxi dress without clashing. They were both comfortable, but still looked polished. These images will be up on their walls, so they wanted to look their best.

I am getting so excited for their July wedding. It’s going to be the perfect way to celebrate the 4th of July weekend! I know the wedding is going to be so super joyful and full of laughter!  They have booked Tenba Ridge Winery.  It’s a ridgetop venue with amazing views. I haven’t worked there before so I can’t wait to explore that property. I love all kinds of venues, and a winery is no exception.
