Nature Engagement Session in La Crosse, Wisconsin
The Location
Brittany & Shane’s nature inspired La Crosse, WI engagement session was filled with so much joy! When Brittany and I were chatting about location perfect for them, she asked me if I would be willing to come to their family land where her parents live. It was out in the country with meadows, valleys, a forest, and a winding country road. She sent me photos, and I was sold! I knew that it had all the things I look for plus sentimental value to the couple. Brittany’s dad brought the four-wheeler out and we started on our adventure all around the property. They had some spots in mind but ultimately trusted me to put them in the best locations.
We started in their own private forest. I loved all the greenery and the tall trees. I had to peel myself away from that spot to see more! Next, was one of the prettiest locations I had ever seen – wildflowers everywhere. I immediately started photographing them walking, dancing, and snuggling amongst all the beautiful white flowers. (SO AMAZING!) My other favorite spot was a section of the private gravel road that connects all the sections of their property. Scroll down to see the backdrop that provided!
Who They Are
Brittany and Shane are some of my favorite people. 🙂 Brittany is super chatty and decisive (like me). Shane is relaxed, trusting, and, ultimately just willing to do anything to make Brittany happy! It was super fun to watch them snuggle, giggle, and interact with one another. They were both great in front of the camera and had a great time despite any nervousness they had going into the session.
What They Wore
We chatted about their favorite outfit choices prior to the session to make sure they had options that were flattering on camera. Shane’s shirts were fitted to give him a great silhouette. Collared shirts add a touch of sophistication, even in a natural outdoor setting. Brittany opted for a feminine floral dress for outfit #1 and something a little more simple and casual for outfit #2. Both worked great! I was so happy that she ran her options through me first, so I could make sure they would photograph well. They were both comfortable, but still looked polished. These images will be up on their walls and in their custom guestbook, so they wanted to look their best.
The Wedding
I am so excited for another opportunity to photograph them. Their wedding is going to be the perfect spring day in May 2021. I know the wedding is going to be so super joyful and full of laughter! They have booked The La Crosse Country Club. It’s an exceptional venue with amazing views. I have worked there before and always have fantastic experiences with their staff and with spots on the property to shoot. I love all kinds of venues, but all-in-one venues make for the least amount of stress for the couple. It’s going to be so great to have the ceremony, portraits, and reception at one location.
Final Thoughts
Brittany and Shane, thank you so much for showing me all around your property and allowing me to capture all your love on camera! I am so happy you love your images (I can’t wait until your guestbook comes in). Thanks for being yourselves, see you super soon!
