Nature Engagement Session In La Crosse, Wisconsin
THE LOCATION
I loved Brittany & Cody’s romantic La Crosse, WI engagement session! When Brittany and I were chatting about location perfect for them, she asked me if I would be willing to come to their private land. It was out in the country with meadows, valleys, a forest, and a field with tall grasses. I was so excited; it had all the things I look for plus sentimental value to the couple. We hopped in their Talon (I even had a chance to drive) and took photos around the property. They had some spots in mind but ultimately trusted me to put them in the best locations.
We started in their own private forest with a small creek. I loved all the greenery and tall trees. It was totally peaceful! Next, I photographed them on a dirt road among tall corn with the sun shining perfectly on them. Finally, was one of the prettiest locations I had ever seen – a giant field with tall grass and a gorgeous dark tree line. We ended the session here at dusk. WHO THEY ARE
Brittany and Cody are totally adorable people. 
Brittany is sweet, caring, and drop dead gorgeous. Cody is totally outgoing, hilarious, and loves Brittany with all his heart! Their physical chemistry is remarkable. It was incredibly easy to photograph and pose them. They listened to my posing tips and prompts, but their natural interactions were ultimately what I ended up loving the most!
WHAT THEY WORE
In my wedding planning guide, I encourage all my brides to wear the dress! Go big or go home! Brittany took my advice and totally went for it. She used Saved By The Dress Online Boutique to find that gorgeous emerald gown. My jaw dropped when I saw her in it! She paired the dress with a statement necklace; it was the perfect match. Brittany completed the look with professional makeup and hair. The lashes were my favorite part!
Cody took to heart the information in the wedding planning guide as well. His grey blazer fit him well and gave him great a shape. The neutral color coordinated really well with the emerald dress. These images will be up on their walls so they wanted to look their best!!
THE WEDDING
When Brittany and Cody came over for their reveal, we chatted about how excited we are for their wedding! It’s another opportunity to photograph them and be around their love! Their wedding is going to be the perfect September day! I know the wedding is going to be so super joyful and full of laughter! They have booked Horstmann Homestead. It’s a barn venue with amazing views and tons of open space. I haven’t worked there before so I am so happy!
