LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN WEDDING AT STONEY CREEK
Nikki and Brandon were married on a hot, sunny, July day in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Getting ready, portraits, and the reception were all held at Stoney Creek in Onalaska. They said their vows and became husband and wife at Nikki’s home church, Blessed Sacrament in La Crosse. After being together for years, the couple was so excited to become a family! I was totally stoked to witness and photograph the happy day! (Scroll down to see the photos!)
THE COUPLE
Nikki and I met through a mutual friend way back in high school. She and I had been ‘liking’ and commenting on each other posts for the last decade. Although we only met once, Nikki knew that she wanted me to photograph her wedding. She was able to see my work over the last 10 years even before she knew Brandon. I love social media! 🙂 I knew Nikki be a fantastic bride to work with, and I was sure when I met Brandon I would love him too.
These two are totally hilarious. I laugh so much when I am around them. They crack each other up constantly. You’ll see lots of laughs in the photos below. They are SO friendly, totally goofy, and so much fun. Both Nikki and Brandon make the best of every situation and find lots of joy in life! I know this is why we became such fast friends. THE LOOK
Nikki is obsessed with sunflowers. Her favorite photos from their engagement session were even taken among sunflowers. It was no surprise that she had sunflower accents all around the venue including her escort cards and cake. The bright yellow sunflowers combined with deep red napkins, bridesmaid dresses, and men’s vests made a gorgeous color palette! Her taste is impeccable!
The veil, the lace dress, the sparkly shoes, and her amazing earrings – I loved it all! Brandon’s grey suit was subtle and neutral so that his dark red vest and tie really stood out. The rich deep color and textures of her bouquet and his boutonniere added an amazing touch to the day and all the photographs.
A FOCUS ON PHOTOGRAPHY
As I mentioned before, Nikki followed my work online for years. She loved the bright, vibrant, true-to-life color of my photos. She wanted sharp, crisp images full of emotion (my specialty). Photography was a top priority. They’ve decorated their home with their engagement photos and now wedding images. I had a great time during their first look, private session, and all the bridal party and family photos. Everyone was so joyful and having a blast!
When the couple met with me for their big reveal session, they were both excited (especially Nikki)! Their faces lit up as they watched the slideshow that brought back so many happy moments from the wedding day. It’s amazing to think that someday they will be looking through these same images after years of marriage! 
TO THE NEWLYWEDS
Mr. & Mrs. Witzke, congratulations again on your new marriage! You have everything it takes for a beautiful, loving, and long marriage. Just keep laughing and bringing comedy into your lives. You are such great friends to Ben and me. We’ll make sure to get together the next time we are near you in Madison! Cheers to marriage and new friendships!
