LA CRESCENT, MINNESOTA WEDDING AT THE BARN ON SOUTHRIDGE
Amanda and Travis married each other on a hot and sunny summer day in La Crescent, Minnesota. Everything from hair and makeup through the dance was all held at The Barn on Southridge among the beautiful apple trees and gorgeous bluffs. The couple had been dating all the way back to their teenage years. It was finally the day they officially became a family! I had a wonderful time witnessing their vows and watching them celebrate their new life together. 🙂
THE COUPLE
Amanda and Travis met over a decade ago during their school days. They fell quickly in love and have been together every since. I remember the first time I really saw them interacting at their engagement session. I was delighted to see just how much fun they have together!! Their wedding was more of the same. In fact, they were both completely nervous and overwhelmed until they saw each other during their first look. They felt instantly better and starting laughing and hugging each other right away. The rest of the day included lots of smiles and happy glances between Amanda and Travis. You’ll see in their photos all the natural grins and laughs!
I was really impressed how much love they showed not only to each other but to all their friends and family. They had a huge wedding party and lots of invited guests. They treated everyone with so much appreciation and care. I even felt like a special guest. 🙂 Amanda and Travis are certainly loved by so many people! I had to step in and help put chairs out at the ceremony because so many people showed up to witness their special moment. How cool is that! And can we just talk about how many friends they had in their wedding party? So many people absolutely adore the couple.
THE LOOK & VIBE
Amanda wanted a relaxed and rustic feel to her day. I am so happy they selected The Barn on Southridge. Not only does the wedding venue have everything in one place, but the inside of the barn was the perfect (air-conditioned) spot for lots of photos. The red barn boards made gorgeous backdrops. The barn is located on acres and acres of apple orchard. We used the outdoor property as a setting for so many of their pictures.
Amanda and Travis along with their guests walked through the orchards and soaked in the natural beauty. The venue grounds were open for guests all day and night. The apple trees can be seen from every angle of the venue so not much additional decorating is necessary. However, I loved all the greenery and floral accents they added to all the tables. Engagement photos, custom place cards, and twinkle lights also added to the look!
The color palette was bright navy and dusty blue with pink bouquets. I loved the fresh summer colors! The bridesmaids selected their own dress styles so everyone was comfortable. I specifically loved the style of Amanda’s dress! It was simple and super pretty. She was barefoot with flowers in her hair. Isn’t that dreamy? Travis looked super fresh with his maroon tie and white vest.
Seriously, I loved everything. The couple really put effort into the details that mattered to them. Most importantly though, they had fun! The energy was high all day. Everything from the wagon ride for the bridal party to the dance was a blast!! Decorations are wonderful to look at, but the memory of all the fun is what lasts forever!
A FOCUS ON PHOTOGRAPHY
Travis and Amanda wanted photos to show what their day really looked like! They love the bright, vibrant, true-to-life color of my photos. They wanted sharp, crisp images full of emotion (my specialty). We planned a day together that would give them lots of time for photos, but more importantly, lots of time to spend talking and hanging out with all their friends and family. I had a great time during their first look, private session, and all the bridal party and family photos. Everyone was so joyful and having a blast!
It was especially wonderful to see Amanda and Travis’s reactions during their reveal slideshow presentation. They smiled, laughed, and even shed some happy tears. I cannot wait to see what images they select as their favorites. The first thing they are choosing is a wedding canvas to go along with their engagement session one. Cool, right?
