MINNESOTA WINTER WEDDING – PRIVATE ESTATE
Julia and Ben made their perfect wedding plans come to life! Because of the pandemic they had to change their venue, guest list, timeline, and much more. Looking back, this was always the way it was meant to be! All the focus was on them and their new marriage. The couple got dressed, shared a first look, and posed for all their photos on a very special property, Julia’s childhood home. The ceremony happened at a charming small church nearby. Finally, they celebrated in the brand new reception space Julia’s parents created just for them!
THE COUPLE
The bride, Julia was over-the-moon happy all day! It was easy to tell that she just wanted to be married! Julia is an extremely kind, extra bubbly, easy going woman. She put all her trust in me to guide her through the day’s events. She had no problem putting on winter boots and trotting through the snow when I told her I found the perfect spot for outdoor photos. Ben is so sweet and caring to Julia and to everyone else! All day he was asking me if I needed anything. It surprised me because the day was supposed to be all about serving him! He is gentle and kind and I can’t say enough about him.
Together, this couple is unstoppable. They have all the love in the world for each other. I think it’s safe to say that they are obsessed with their new marriage. Julia and Ben have lots of big dreams and plans for themselves, and I know they will accomplish so much together!!
THE LOOK
The weather was simply perfect, especially for January in Minnesota! It was a winter wonderland on the family property. Frost and snow blanketed the trees and the ground making the most beautiful bright and clean setting for photos. The wedding design and decor was impeccable! The wedding palette was bright red, black, white, and green. The decorations incorporated deep tones and gold throughout the spaces, perfect for winter.
Julia selected the most gorgeous wedding look. Her gown fit her wonderfully, and she honestly looked like a queen! The lace and beading on the dress gave her so much sparkle, I couldn’t believe how perfectly it went with the outdoor winter scene. Long earrings, a veil, and a gem hairpiece added lots of extra dimension. I love an ensemble with accessories!
Ben wore a classic black suit with a white tie and pocket square. His grey vest and red rose boutonniere added some color and depth to his look.
A FOCUS ON PHOTOGRAPHY
Ben and Julia love posing for photos! When I photographed their engagement session I was in heaven. They are so comfortable snuggling up with each other and always share lots of giggles. The wedding was no different. They listened to every direction and prompt I gave them. I was able to capture a ton of variety in a short time. I didn’t want them outside too long since it was a bit chilly. Scroll down to see some of my favorite shots!
While I was at Julia’s parents’ home I noticed a shelf FULL of albums, each labeled with a different year. Family photos and memories filled the pages. I can’t help but think of Julia and Ben’s shelf at their home. Someday it will be full of family photos too. Album #1 will be labeled 2021 and start with the wedding pictures. How special is that? It brings a tear to my eye to think of how meaningful these images will be 30, 40, and 50 years from now.
