Love Conquers COVID-19 

My heart goes out to all of the brides that have been affected by closures due to COVID-19. It can be beyond stressful to decide to either postpone your wedding or to continue with your marriage without having all of your people there. Although the pandemic may be wreaking havoc on your plans, it is so important to remember why this giant celebration is happening; your love for one another. It’s okay to still get married without a large crowd! 

Kristin and Jordan simply exemplified this concept. They were expecting to have several hundred people in attendance for their big day, but because of social distancing, they were only able to have their immediate family present for the moment they shared their vows. Although it wasn’t the day that they had originally envisioned, it was a PERFECT day. 

The couple decided to get ready at their home where Kristin’s sister did her hair and make-up (which turned out great!!). The family then drove to the beautiful Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist where they had an intimate ceremony. They even live-streamed the ceremony on Facebook for their friends and family that couldn’t be there. 

After the ceremony, everyone went to Home2 Suites by Hilton Rochester where they had food delivered to the gorgeous patio from one of their favorite restaurants. Their mini-reception was so them! It was laid-back and relaxing. Kristin and Jordan got to enjoy the company of their family on their wedding day without the added stress of everything else that typically takes place. We were able to capture some stunning photos of them down by the water that was right behind the hotel! We had plenty of time for poses and laughs, and we didn’t feel rushed at all. 

Anyone watching this wedding take place would have thought this was exactly how it was meant to be. Kristin and Jordan were just so happy to be in love and to be marrying each other that it just didn’t matter that a pandemic had disrupted their original plans. 

What I Loved Most About the Day 

First, the intimate feeling of the small ceremony and reception was so relaxing. I loved this style of wedding. There was absolutely no disappointment that they had to have a smaller get-together; they found joy and happiness in just being with their families and each other. 

Second, Kristin had two dresses: one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Because of this, there was so much diversity in the pictures we took. When the couple chooses the photos they would like to order for their wedding book, they will have quite a variety to choose from. What an awesome idea! Dress one was found at The White Rose Bridal and Formal Wear, and dress two was found at Lulu’s. 

And finally, at the end of the day we are all struggling with some of the sacrifices we have to make because of COVID-19. Please try to remember that no matter what happens, love will always conquer all. Kristin and Jordan proved just that- they didn’t let a pandemic get in the way of their love for each other.
