La Crosse, Wisconsin Wedding at The Charmant
I was looking forward to Kaylie & Freddy’s Charmant wedding for so long! After months of planning, decision making, and shopping on Etsy, it was finally the big day! The couple spent the day inside, outside, and on top of The Charmant Hotel. Yes, you read that right, on top of! The ceremony and reception were held on the hotel’s rooftop. (Scroll down and see the photos!) The weather was sunny and warm, exactly what you’d expect for early August in Wisconsin. Close family and friends gathered to watch their two favorite people become a family.
The Couple
Kaylie originally met me at The La Crosse Bridal Expo. I remember putting a big circle around her name on my sign-in sheet. We connected right away and I knew she would be a fantastic bride to work with! See, Kaylie is friendly, goofy, sweet as pie, and over-the-moon in love with Freddy. She is so appreciative and humble about everything in her life.
Freddy is the definition of a good husband. He is selfless, calm, and a whole lot of fun. He adores Kaylie more than anything in his life. It is so obvious to see that he loves her with his whole heart. I had the best time watching them interact and care for eachother. If you’re someone that loves puppy love, make sure you spend some time looking at the joy in the couple’s faces.
The Look
Kaylie could be a professional wedding planner. Honestly. Her taste is impeccable! She picked out gorgeous details for her wedding including a custom coordinating invitation suite, custom tie clips, personalized bridal robe, handmade vow books, and flower collar for their puppy Millie. She chose a navy, blush, and green color palette. Mixed with white linens, the colors looked outstanding! She left nothing to chance and planned this wedding to a ‘T”.
A Focus on Photography
Photography was a top priority for the couple. They wanted a photographer to not only take photos, guide them, their bridal party, and family. I had a great time explaining flattering poses and prompting them all to get “snuggly” close and to flash me their best smiles. You’ll see all their joy in the photos below. I pay an extreme amount of details to how people look in the photos I take. I made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time getting their portraits taken.
When the couple came over for their big reveal session, they were both excited (especially Kaylie)! She cried so many happy tears as she watched the slideshow that brought back so many happy moments from the wedding day. We talked all about the importance of protecting and cherishing these photos throughout their marriage and to pass on to their children. They selected a 12×12 custom album with a neutral gray leather cover for that purpose. Kaylie and I both chatted about our parent’s albums and the countless times we’ve looked at those photos. It’s amazing to think that someday when Kaylie and Freddy have been married for years and years that their children will be flipping through their wedding album from way back in 2020. 🙂
To The Newlyweds
Mr. & Mrs. Fredrick, I know I’ve said it a million time before, but thank you again. I think of you as good friends and love you very much! Your marriage is one I look up to. The light you shine into the world impacts so many people. Keep sharing your love and laughter with each other and those around you. I know that we’ll be seeing lots of each other, and I couldn’t be more excited for that. Cheers to marriage and new friendships!
