La Crosse Engagement Session at Pettibone Park
The Location
Dani and Dustin’s La Crosse, WI engagement session was so joyful! I couldn’t be happier with the fun we had, the connections that were strengthened, and of course, the images. Dani and Dustin totally trusted me to pick a location for their engagement session. I knew I wanted somewhere that was private, easy to access, and full of beautiful light! Pettibone Park is a total gem for all those reasons. The grounds are vast and full of variety. Specifically for their session, I wanted to use the gazebo and the road that runs along the Mississippi River. There is magical sunset light and beautiful greenery there. It’s quiet, intimate and beautiful.
Who They Are
This couple is the perfect match. They share beliefs, hobbies, and love for all things ‘nerdy’. I didn’t have to try at all to get them to giggle for photos because they were constantly laughing. It’s completely obvious that Dani and Dustin are best friends. They are easy going, totally trusting, and incredibly charismatic. When they came over for their original consult, we had no problem chit chatting and getting to know each other better. The engagement session was not exception. They are so friendly!
What They Wore
I send out a style guide to all my clients before their engagement sessions. Dani and Dustin read through it and took what I had to say to heart! Dani selected a gorgeous cocktail dress in a dark emerald color. It complemented her skin tone and shape so well. A dress gave her a flirty and feminine look that made her stand out! She actually loved the dress so much that she bought it in several colors. 🙂 I also loved Dani’s shoes! Her timeless black pumps gave her a little more height and made her legs look so long. Heels also help with posture, something I am always talking about. Better posture makes for more flattering images!
Dustin is a suit guy and had no problem with dressing up for the shoot. He selected a gray three piece suit to coordinate with Dani’s dress. The color of his tie and her dress actually are the color of the wedding. When they display their engagement photos at the reception, they will match perfectly. Being dressed up gave Dustin lots of confidence. He looked so great!!
The Wedding
I am so excited for this wedding! It will be hosted at the newly renovated La Crosse Center. I know the wedding is going to be so super joyful and full of laughter! With all the updates and the decor, I know their wedding  will be exceptionally beautiful. The La Crosse Center is near to downtown and Riverside Park. I’m sure we’ll be taking advantage of those spots for lots of pretty photos. 🙂
Final Thoughts
