NOVEMBER WISCONSIN WEDDING
Megan and Carson married each other on a beautiful November day in Wisconsin. Megan’s mom has a beautiful home in West Salem where the couple dressed. Just down the road is Veteran’s Memorial Park where they shared a first look and posted for tons of portraits! Next, they traveled to English Lutheran in La Crosse for a religious ceremony and finally gathered with their friends and family at Justin Trails. Their wedding plans changed over the course of the pandemic, but everything came together perfectly in the end!
THE COUPLE
Megan contacted me right away after she got engaged. I’m so glad she connected with me immediately because I still had their date available! I book up so quickly, so they were in luck! We video chatted and hit it off. I loved learning about their love story and the plans they had for their wedding. We met a few months later for their engagement session and stayed in touch throughout their engagement. They became such wonderful friends. 🙂
I love watching Megan and Carson together. They are constantly smiling and laughing and having a great time. You’ll see lots of laughs in the photos below. They are SO friendly and a ton of fun. You’ll also see lots of snuggles and soft touches. They are super sweet and so loving as well. It’s obvious they were meant to be. 🙂
THE LOOK
The weather was crisp and cool and it rained off and on. Despite the wind and chill, the couple and wedding party had a great time getting portraits outside. Everyone did a great job toughing it out to get the perfect shots!
Everything about the design and decor was perfect. The celebration took place in November, the time period between autumn and winter. Megan and Carson selected dark rich colors to complement the light browns and pale greens of the season. I loved the palette of reds, blush, dark navy, and burgundy. Wood and mixed metal accent pieces added depth to the whole look. I love their taste!
The bride wore a lace gown with a high neckline and fitted shape. It had just the right amount of drama and flair! She added a classic veil (my favorite). Her Betsey Johnson flats were rose gold and full of rhinestones and beautiful rose cutouts. It might not seem like shoes are important, but they are! Hers showed as she walked down the aisle, twirled on the dance floor, and posed for certain photos. Lastly, Megan put on simple pearl earrings and a bracelet. They were the prettiest little touches that took her look up another level.
The groom looked so slick in his bright navy tuxedo with satin burgundy bowtie. His white and red boutonniere popped against the dark jacket. Carson was confident and smiling all day!
A FOCUS ON PHOTOGRAPHY
The couple wanted a mixture of posed and candid photos that showed off their authentic feelings for each other. They wanted to feel relaxed and confident on their wedding day. I specialize in all those things and was the perfect fit for them! I put together a timeline that allowed for traditional portraits, but also lots of goofy and fun images of everyone together. Scroll down to see some of the fun we had!
When the couple met with me for their big reveal session, they were totally thrilled with their images! Their faces lit up as they watched the slideshow that brought back so many happy moments from the wedding day. They immediately knew they wanted a custom album to show off all their favorite memories. You can see that here. 🙂
