MOTHER’S DAY FAMILY SESSION IN LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN
This family photography session in La Crosse, Wisconsin was SO MUCH FUN. My sister Sarah, a makeup artist, and I collaborated to give moms a luxurious day of pampering! The adult children all chipped in to purchase the Luxury Bundle for their mom. They told us how she always does things for others but never takes time to treat herself. They knew she really wanted some new pictures; it had been seven years since their last family photo! I’m so happy her children and husband appreciate her! 🙂
Mom arrived at the photoshoot location for some girl time with her daughters. Sarah curled her hair and gave her a GORGEOUS makeup look! We all chatted about womanhood, motherhood, and life in general. Lots of chit-chatting and tons of giggles! We treated them to grazing boards and mimosas to celebrate the occasion. The boys all joined about an hour later just as hair and makeup were wrapping up.
Part of why I love photography is because families are constantly growing and changing. I get the opportunity to photograph them just as they are in that particular moment. This family, specifically, is gaining two new sons-in-law and needed to document what Finley Family 2.0 looks like. 🙂 It was hilarious, wild, and total organized chaos getting the groups arranged. To be honest, the Finley’s remind me a lot of my own family; too loud, too blunt, but always joyful and laughing! I was able to capture a ton of images that showcased their personalities and family dynamics.
I met with the family just a couple of weeks later for their ordering session. There were smiles, stories, and even a few happy tears as we talked through the images and what they meant to Mrs. Finley. The family has been through tons of challenges, but at the heart of it all is so much love and support! We designed a living room gallery wall with a 20×30 gallery wrap and five surrounding images. They also picked two 16×20 images to go above their bed. Even though the kids are growing up and moving out, those family photos will always show them together.
Finley Family, I am SO GLAD that you prioritized mom for the day! She loves you SO much. Although I know she is going to cherish those large wall prints, she loved spending time with you all even more. Keep loving each other, don’t ever change.
